Fit

* Fit is probably the most important factor in your clothing. If you don’t already have one, find a good tailor. Trust me, if you never use a tailor to alter your clothing, you are either extremely lucky that everything fits or you are wearing things that don’t.

* Most garments never fit perfectly without some minor alterations. So don’t just settle for an item that “pretty much fits” or “fits ok” - it either fits properly or it doesn’t, and a proper fit is crucial to how the item looks on your body.

* I know it's hard, but ignore sizes. Sizes can vary from one designer to the next such that the same individual can wear 3-4 different sizes. Purchase an item according to the designer's size chart to fit your largest measurements. That's where the tailor comes in - to take in the areas that are too large! This is the way to achieve proper fit.
